Life Skills Seminars

The Acton Public Library Presents “Adulting: Life Skills Seminars,” a program for teens and young adults in our community being offered regularly throughout the year on a variety of topics. These topics include, Automotive Maintenance and Repair (oil change, tire change, topping off fluids), Home Management (financial literacy, basic first aid, sewing) Cooking (basic recipes and shopping list of staples, healthy eating). Gardening (flowers, veggies, fruit trees) Politics (local, state, federal, how they work, how to participate). Past topics include: Financial Literacy, Local Government, Hand Mending and Beginner Cooking.

The topic of this seminar is Beginner Gardening and will be taught by Joan Nass, who has been gardening since she was a young girl and has 44 years of experience.  The topics covered will be: Seed Choice, Seed Starting, Soil Preparation and Planting. The Beginner Gardening Seminar will be held on Saturday, May 8th from 10-11:30 AM at the Acton Public Library free of charge, both virtually and in-person. Participants will be asked to wear a mask and will be social distanced because this space is limited. Sign-up here.
